“Did it take long to find me? I ask the faithful light. Oh, did it take long to find me? And, are you going to stay the night?” ~ Cat Stevens: Moonshadow ~
WOW, Monica!!! MOST excellent!!!! And the Cat Stevens quote, just perfect, this is one of my absolute favorite posts of yours. Because you know I love snapping the moon and I love Cat Stevens!!! I could name you so many of my favs of his: Father & Son, the Numbers album, Sad Lisa. But I digress. Have you ever gotten such a moon shot before? If so, I have not seen it. It may have taken you a long time to find, but it is WORTH it!!! You have made my weekend!!!!!
I think this is the best moon shot I ever managed and it does not seem very likely I'll be able to do much better unless some time in the future I get an even better camera. The "secret" here is I managed to shoot this at moonrise while the sky was still quite light. I then increased contrast and shadow in the editing (in Picasa) so that I got a blacker tree silhouette and deeper colours in the sky. I've tried shooting the moon in the dark but then I never manage a good picture with the equipment I have.
it is beautiful, really beautiful and I read how you edited it. a great capture and perfect edit. i love the colors behind the black silhouette. I still have never gotten a moon shot.
That is a great moon shot indeed! I have never been able to show such detail-I will bear your tips in mind! My moonshadow is what was cast on my draining board the other night by the full moon!
I've always loved that Cat Stevens lyric--one of my all-time favorite songs. And, coming to you from Moonbeams and Fireflies, I have to say that your photo is simply AWESOME!
