FMTSO/FF/SSS: Waiting to Play

CIMG5652-001

They’re building a new playground in the Town Park.

CIMG5653-001

For now it is surrounded by a fence…

CIMG5654-001

… and the children have to play elsewhere :)

Hopefully it will be worth the wait, though. Children all over town were involved in the planning of it; there was a sort of contest and school children got to vote for one of three alternatives. It was arranged in a similar way to political elections.

PS. The sculpture in the last photo is not new, it has been in the park for decades I think. But it has got a new plinth!

PPS. If someone is wondering about the low activity level on this blog lately, the answer is the same as to why they’re taking a pause in the building of the playground: It’s July! In Sweden, every activity that is not absolutely necessary (or tourist-related) takes a break in July…

Shadow Shot Sunday: Bike

In this case, the shadow was in better condition than the object casting it…

Spinning a Yarn Up the Wall

CIMG3629-001

for Shadow Shot Sunday

It’s not every day you find a spinning wheel on a barn wall, spinning shadows, high over your head…

Found this one on the gable of a countryside curiosity shop!

Shadow Shot Sunday

CIMG3119

The glimpses of sun have been rare lately…
Only occasionally do the clouds part for long enough
to remind us of the difference between light and shadow.

Shadow Shot Sunday

CIMG2931-001

Yesterday afternoon the Sun and I happened to be out together for just a short while. There haven’t been many opportunities for shadow shots lately!

Shadow Shot Sunday–Leaves

Poetry is the art of substantiating shadows,
and of lending existence to nothing.

Shadow Shot Sunday: Sun Cross

CIMG8372

Visiting a cemetery, my eyes fell on this unusual old grave cross casting a distinct shadow on the ground. I can’t recall having seen this exact shape of sun cross before.

PS. Gemma suggested in a comment I should also link this post to Taphophile Tragics, so why not… (The location is Fristad, Västergötland, Sweden)
