A small waterfall contributing to soothing sounds
of Nature in our largest (and newest) cemetery.
The little lake, on this particular day, was NOT in motion…

Yesterday I very nearly did not bring my camera, just going out for a quick (hmm!) short walk to post a letter. “There can’t possibly be anything interesting along that way on a grey and snow-free winter day,” I thought to myself. But then I grabbed the camera anyway…
And it turned out nature along the familiar path surprised me, once again – as my familiar paths sometimes do. This time I found a frozen lake - where there usually is no lake!
In April, this is one of the close-to-home spots where I go looking for wood anemones! (…not water lilies…)
For Watery Wednesday
I borrowed the post title – Whisper to the Wild Water -
from a song/album by Maire (Moya) Brennan:
… … …
Around, around
Around I turn
Around I turn
In time
I heard Your name
Whisper to the wild water
I’ll be strong
I will survive
… … …
This is just a very small waterfall…
Still, standing close to it, the other sounds of the city
are drowned by the roar of the water.
The FMTSO theme for this Friday, July 1st is Simplicity.
Okay, I went out of town rather than into town for these shots.
But the lake is within the borders of the municipality ;)
It’s also Skywatch Friday.
There are more of these cherry blossom trees to be seen at my other blog: Beyond the Lone Islands/Weekend Reflections. Aren’t they just gorgeous? I just can’t stop myself from taking more pictures every time I pass them, even though I know I already have lots of them!
This post here I had intended to link to ‘Skywatch Friday’; but the Skywatch post for this week seems to still be missing after the Blogger crash. Never mind, perhaps some of my regular followers will find my post anyway! ;)

Please scroll down or follow the link for my ‘Friday My Town’ post, which was also posted late because of the Blogger crash.
On the outskirts of busy town life, there is a half-hidden oasis called Ålgården: originally an old mill, then water works, then museum, and now artists’ gallery and workshops. I already showed some views from there on my other blog, for Weekend Reflections. But since I took a lot of photos, why not give you an expanded tour of the place here, and show some of the other buildings as well.
This is also where I saw the Orange Tip Butterfly in the previous post.
I don’t know the original purpose of this little tower.
Some sort of pump house, perhaps?
Views from the other side of the river:
Walking home through the park; the low evening sun shining through the fountain in the river…

Hepaticas (blue) and wood anemones (white). The wood anemones are very common and grow ‘everywhere’; but the hepaticas are more rare. In the nature reserve we visited on Good Friday they can be seen in abundance in a few spots, though; and Easter happened to be just the right time this year.

Linking to Watery Wednesday and Mid Week Blues
I admit this is a bit of a stretch just to get my calendar picture to fit with the Watery theme of the day… But did you know that 80-85% of an apple is water?
Not watery enough for you? Okay, then… Let’s put the apple in the water instead. Most of the “%” in the apple that aren’t water, are air! That’s why they float.
Pure miracle really that they also manage to taste so good, isn’t it?
‘2sweetnsaxy’ (host of Watery Wednesdays) also suggested something reminding of Valentine’s Day for this week. Perhaps the apple reminds more of temptation than of true love – but still… I think the two apples in the first picture make a “sweet couple, cheek to cheek”… ;)
