Outdoor Wednesday: Autumn Colours

I’ve been out walking in the rain a lot this week… The colours in nature just now actually do not seem to even need the sun! The photos below are all from today and “straight out of the camera” (some of them cropped a little, but no colour editing).

(In case anyone wonders, the first three pictures are from a cemetery.)

Blue Monday, Ruby Tuesday…

About a week ago I found they’d installed some new toys in the playground in a little park I sometimes pass when out walking:

Have to say that what intrigued me most was how on earth (literally) this blue ‘carpet’ stays attached to the gravel ground beneath it.

I also had to try out this purple piano:

I think if I lived “next door” and there were lots of children playing in this park – that sound would soon drive me mad! (Question: Do children NEED outdoors playground toys that make electronic noises? Do parents??)

However, I don’t live that close– and moreover, I can’t recall ever having seen this playground being used in the past, whenever I have happened to pass through there. I wonder if that has changed with the new toys? (There were no children about this time either.)

For Blue Monday and Ruby Tuesday Too.
(And perhaps a Purple Thursday??)

Friday My Town: Bright and Colourful

CIMG9230-002

Embarrassed smile Have to admit I completely forgot about the Friday Shoot Out this week. Not only did I forget to post on the right day - I realized today that I had no idea what the theme was…

But… Making amends… What’s more bright and colourful than a rainbow? (See more rainbow shots at my other blog.)

Apart from the rainbow, it’s been a rather dull week here with a lot of rain and clouds and not much sun. However, this afternoon it did clear up again for a while (rain is hitting my windows again as I write this though), and I went for a walk up to our old regiment buildings. (I say “up” because they are situated on top of a hill.)

The regiment was disbanded 15 years ago, and the buildings now house various business offices, schools and apartments.

Actually, the buildings are quite bright and colourful, even if still somewhat awe-inspiring…

Seen from afar (from the park where I hope to be chasing butterflies again a bit later on in the summer – there were none to be seen there today)

Panorama view from the yard.
It’s a huge place with a variety of buildings.

Not sure how I’d feel about living there…

Well, these flowers were bright and cheerful anyway!
