Splash of Colour

Taking a walk across the cemetery close to where I live yesterday, I found two newly planted, wonderfully colourful flowerbeds as promise of more colour soon to come.

Friday My Town: Bring on the Green

We don’t celebrate St Patrick’s here, but luckily Nature is doing her best to bring on the green anyway. I’m afraid I’ve not been too well and not able to be out and about a whole lot. But I did manage to take the camera out for a peek into a garden or two nearby.

Green is even getting a bit of competition from other colours:

The spring sun also woke some small tortoiseshell butterflies up from winter hibernation this week.

Ruby Tuesday: Tulips

Sandra wanted to see more of the tulips from yesterday’s collage,
so here they are again - for Sandra, and for Ruby Tuesday!

 

 

With the new camera I’ve become a proper paparazzi.
I can now zoom in people from across the river!
At the same time the camera managed to keep the tulips in pretty
sharp focus as well. I’m enjoying myself exploring the possibilities.

The first four pictures were shot last week with my old camera. The last four I took yesterday with my new camera (Casio Exilim EX-H30), bought this week. I haven’t really had much chance to get properly acquainted with it yet. For one thing most of this week has been wet and windy, and for another, as simple as the camera may look at first sight, the complete user’s guide comprises 178 pages… ;)
