Friday My Town: Black and White

CIMG0525-001

The FMTSO theme this week is Black & White. I haven’t really been in the right kind of mood though. I tried a few shots outdoors earlier in the week, but all looked better in colour… (I’m so not looking forward to winter…)

But then today I re-visited this sculpture (entitled House 18) inside a church, and against the black background here, I quite like the B&W effect. The sculpture is cut out of blocks of alabaster and marble. The name of the artist is Lars-ร…ke ร…berg; and the sculpture has been part of this summer’s sculpture biennal in my town.

Friday My Town: Black & White & Sepia

… at the Zoo …

Oh please, leave me some dignity, will you…
Someone might take me for a zebra!

CIMG2628-2

Some of us have got it natural!

Well… Almost, anyway… (wink, wink)

CIMG2910-1

Greyscale, sepia… Why not just keep to the natural look?
(What do you mean, what am I? Blame that photographer…
Fancy leaving my trunk out of the picture like that!)

CIMG2816

I take my pride in always wearing formal dress,
thank you very much! No special effects needed!

CIMG2728-1

Oh, do whatever you like, just let me sleep, will you…

CIMG2843-1

Personally I think I look much wilder in colour.
After all I’m a WOLF, you know - not just any old dog…

- Did someone say wolf? I’m out of here!!!

Friday My Town–Black And White

DSCN1421-1

▲ Along one of my walks there are some rather modern houses surrounded by a fence that I think might be older than the buildings. Some of the trees in the garden definitely must be. And with snow on top they make an even better picture! ▼

2011-01-13 Black-and-white collage

All of the photos in this post were taken last week, just after we had had a fresh snow-fall making the world all shiny white and pretty again. Since then we have had thaw, and rain, and the remaining snow going all dirty, and then all freezing to ice again…! Ah well… With the camera, we can freeze the moment!!!

DSCN1428-1

This abandoned old brick building is another place I pass on this walk. Now in the winter it’s more apparent than ever that it is not used for anything, since a mountain of snow from the road has been allowed to grow in front of the door.

This photo is actually NOT black-and-white. It’s just black and white! Can you tell? ;)
