Watery Wednesday: Bird’s-eye View

CIMG2433

Yesterday morning the lake lay still like a perfect mirror.
This view was taken from the top of a birdwatch tower, but there were very few birds about. I happened to run into a friend up there (in the tower) who is an ardent birdwatcher (not just in fine weather!) and he said it was too still for the birds… Most of them prefer a little wind under their wings!

  1. Hard to choose between the pics -love that tree trunk in the water in the last pic. The stairs and the landing almost make it look like a tree house:)

  6. What a delightful walk in the wetlands, one of my favourite places to look for birds and other wildlife. :)

  8. My favorite picture is the first, beautiful reflections and jet trails in the sky. You must have very good balance to have gone over that little footbridge then up the steps!! I guess all that walking keeps you nimble!!

  9. The final photo looks so peaceful and serene: water and trees--and nobody else in sight!

    FEEL THE WATERS’ HEALING

    If you’re stressed and weary
    Try a thing or two:
    Go down to the river,
    Take a friend with you;
    Take your shoes and socks off,
    Plunge in twenty toes—
    Feel the waters’ healing
    As the river flows!

  10. That is interesting to know that birds prefer a bit of a breeze. Actually, I do to when it is hot out. Terrific photo! The lake mirrors perfectly the sky and surroundings.
