Yesterday morning the lake lay still like a perfect mirror.
This view was taken from the top of a birdwatch tower, but there were very few birds about. I happened to run into a friend up there (in the tower) who is an ardent birdwatcher (not just in fine weather!) and he said it was too still for the birds… Most of them prefer a little wind under their wings!
Two young coots (according to my knowledgeable friend)
The Tower, reached by narrow footbridges through the wetland.

Hard to choose between the pics -love that tree trunk in the water in the last pic. The stairs and the landing almost make it look like a tree house:)
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous photos! the view from the tower is simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful set.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Keep on clicking.
ReplyDeleteThe views from that observation tower, I bet, are quite breathtaking...as are your photos.
ReplyDeleteMy Wednesday Link, if you care to come by to visit: Capt. Levi....Savvy?
this is amazing, it looks just like Florida, i just showed it to my husband and we discussed how much Sweden looks just like where we are. photos are beautiful. i like that tower, but would not climb it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful walk in the wetlands, one of my favourite places to look for birds and other wildlife. :)
ReplyDeleteThe views are stunning even without birds!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite picture is the first, beautiful reflections and jet trails in the sky. You must have very good balance to have gone over that little footbridge then up the steps!! I guess all that walking keeps you nimble!!
ReplyDeleteThe final photo looks so peaceful and serene: water and trees--and nobody else in sight!
ReplyDeleteFEEL THE WATERS’ HEALING
If you’re stressed and weary
Try a thing or two:
Go down to the river,
Take a friend with you;
Take your shoes and socks off,
Plunge in twenty toes—
Feel the waters’ healing
As the river flows!

That is interesting to know that birds prefer a bit of a breeze. Actually, I do to when it is hot out. Terrific photo! The lake mirrors perfectly the sky and surroundings.
