Most of the ducks in the river are mallards, but these two (if I’m not
mistaken) are Common Goldeneye (Swedish: Knipa). I keep seeing
only one pair of them among all the mallards – all year round -
so I’m assuming they are one and the same couple!

Golden Eye they are. I like mallard but it's good to have a change.
ReplyDeleteWe have far too many mallards in our area, too. It is exciting to see a different duck for a change.
ReplyDeleteit looks like they have a long way to thread on the water :)
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful! I so love watching waterfowl!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflections on the water!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you showed the wide photo first. The color reflected on the water is gorgeous! Golden Eyes, I've never seen them before. I love seeing birds of any kind that are unfamiliar to me. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteamazing!i hope i could see them someday :)
ReplyDeleteNice shots. I wish I could find some other kinds among all the mallards! It's almost like panning for gold...
ReplyDeleteI think we only see those in winter here, so I get excited when I see them. That pair must think they're mallards if they stick around with them all the time.
ReplyDeleteWow, wonderful photo... love the colours in the reflection... lovely little ducks...
ReplyDeleteGreat reflections of color in that first shot. Have a great WW!
ReplyDeleteLove the orange reflection in your first pic -a nice complement to the blue!
ReplyDeletecute ducks. I like the reflections on the water.
