Passing through the town park on Sunday, I kept hearing a muffled irregular thump-thump-thump background noise. I realized after a while that it was horse chestnuts dropping from the trees, and that I was just lucky none on them fell on my head! ;)

Very autumnal! I walked through a wood on Saturday and the acorns were dropping all round - they missed me as well!
